In high-stakes environments, readiness isn’t just a trait—it’s a system. The Triple 3C Architecture offers a comprehensive, nested framework for diagnosing and cultivating adaptive performance across individuals, teams, and organisations.
Built within the ION Learning Model, it comprises three interconnected arcs:
Outer Arc (Organisational Drivers): Credibility / Capability / Capacity – the original 3C Model, defining strategic output and institutional success
Inner Arc (Human Adaptive Fluencies): Conscience / Cognition / Collaboration – the critical human inputs for learning under pressure
Foundational Arc (Team Readiness Drivers): Competencies / Conditions / Commitments – a modular layer for analysing and supporting team-level adaptivity
This architecture enables multi-level diagnostics and targeted interventions in leadership, training, and human development. It reflects the ION Model’s full reach—from system-facing metrics to human-centred transformation.
The Triple 3C Architecture is introduced in Becoming Adaptive: Part 1, where the interplay between Outer and Inner Arcs is explored. Its full integration, including the Foundational Arc, is developed further in Becoming Adaptive: Part 3.
